Aston Education is working with The School of Research Science, a thriving and vibrant international school, in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. They are looking for a full-time Humanities Lead Practitioner to start in August 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for an excellent Teacher of Humanities or a middle leader to develop their leadership skills in supporting colleagues in strengthening their practice.

The job responsibilities include:

As a Humanities Lead Practitioner, you’ll work across KS3, KS4 and KS5 and provide high quality coaching and subject-specific CPD to Humanities teachers to achieve sustained improvements in teaching and learning.

You’ll implement and monitor strategies to raise the achievement of targeted Humanities students and act as a ‘champion’ for SEND students.

You’ll teach Humanities (Religious Studies, History or Geography) across KS3, KS4 and KS5 and prepare the students for iGCSE and A level exams.

Skills and Qualifications required:

• PGCE and QTS / QTLS
• Degree in Humanities or related field
• Successful UK teaching experience in Humanities (Religious Studies, History or Geography) at secondary school level
• Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum for Humanities
• Proven track record of improving teaching and learning
• Commitment to excellence, inclusivity, and community
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

School: Secondary Academy, Bexley, Greater London/Kent

Annual Salary: Enhanced MPS/UPS outer London £37,928 - £56,217 per annum

Contract: Permanent, full-time

Start date: September 2026

Responsibilities include:

This is an exciting opportunity for a History Teacher with strong subject knowledge and a love of learning to join an excellent department, inspiring students and bringing history to life through engaging and innovative teaching.

The successful candidate will be able to teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for KS5.

You have:

• Qualified teacher status (QTS)
• Degree in History or another relevant subject
• Successful experience teaching History to KS3-KS4 and ideally to KS5
• Experience of History Edexcel GCSE and AQA A Level is desired
• Willingness to teach other Humanities/Social Science subjects would be advantageous
