Dear candidate
Role of Baker Award Co-ordinator
We are seeking a dynamic colleague to co-ordinate the successful delivery of the new Baker Award for technical education and to support the wider delivery of Baker Dearing events.
The Baker Award is aimed at 14–18-year-olds. It recognises and celebrates vital elements of technical education which prepare young people with the skills and attributes to be successful in the world of work. Think of it as the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme for employability! In this role, you will support schools to meet the various components of the Award and encourage more schools to participate. In addition, you will work with Baker Dearing colleagues to deliver employer events which help fulfil elements of the Award.
Baker Dearing is the national charity that runs the Baker Award as well as supporting the development of our network of 44 University Technical Colleges (UTCs). UTCs are a unique family of technical schools that blend academic excellence with high-quality technical education and employer engagement. Baker Dearing is a small, friendly charity comprising a team of 12 dedicated professionals.
If you would like an informal discussion about this role, please do not hesitate to contact me or Steve Leahey, the Director of Curriculum Innovation.
