School: Secondary Academy, Lewisham, Southeast London
Annual Salary: L12–18 inner London (£77,720 - £88,626)
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Start date: September 2026
Aston Education is working with an Ofsted Good 11-18 secondary school in Lewisham looking for an Assistant Principal to shape whole-school improvement and play a central role in driving standards, culture and outcomes.
They are looking for an outstanding individual whose strengths, expertise and leadership capacity will enhance and strengthen their senior team. Your specific portfolio will be aligned to your experience and the evolving needs of the school, which may include achievement, teaching and learning, behaviour and culture, inclusion, attendance, curriculum, personal development or Sixth Form.
As an Assistant Principal / Assistant Headteacher, you will lead with high expectations and integrity, ensuring consistency in systems, strong staff development and excellent outcomes for students.
You have:
- Qualified teacher status (QTS)
- National Professional Qualification (NPQSL or equivalent)
- Further postgraduate study in education or leadership is desirable
- Proven track record of successful leadership impact at middle or senior leadership level in a secondary school
- Demonstrable experience of leading improvement and securing measurable outcomes
- Experience of leading whole school initiatives
