Location: Primary Academy, Lewisham, Southeast London

Start date: 3rd November 2025

Actual Annual Salary: £28,074 - £29,962

Contract: Permanent, 35 hours a week (8am to 4pm), Mondays to Fridays, 42.9 weeks

 

Aston Education is working with an Ofsted Good two-form entry Primary Academy in Lewisham, Southeast London, looking for a permanent full-time HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) to start on 3rd November 2025.

As an HLTA, you’ll create an engaging learning environment and plan and teach whole class lessons across all key stages (EYFS, KS1 and KS2) to cover teachers’ PPA time.

Qualifications, experience, and skills required include:

  • A*-C grade in English and Maths at GCSE level or equivalent
  • TA qualification
  • HLTA qualification is desired
  • Experience working with pupils in a primary school 
  • Experience leading whole classes or large groups
  • Experience of working with children with SEND (ASD/ ADHD/ Attachment difficulties)
  • Ability to speak and teach German or French at Primary level is desired
  • Calm, patient and caring attitude with a good sense of humour
  • A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
  • Passion to make a positive difference
