Job: Attendance and Welfare Lead
School: Secondary School, Lambeth, South London
Start date: January 2026
Actual Annual Salary: £32,393 – £33,748
Contract: Full-time, permanent, term time only (39 weeks a year)
Aston Education is looking for an Attendance and Welfare Lead for an Ofsted Good 11-16 secondary school in Lambeth, South London.
In your role as an Attendance and Welfare Lead, you will use the school’s MIS system to update students’ attendance and punctuality and liaise with the SLT.
You will provide a specialist service to help the school to raise achievement by improving school attendance and punctuality and to meet their attendance targets.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Raise the attendance and punctuality standards of all students
- Lead the Advisory Teams in establishing, and maintaining positive attendance routines
- Build positive and productive relations with parents and carers
- Maintain accurate data to effectively track student attendance and punctuality
records of each student - Prepare attendance reports and statistics for external stakeholders and governor meetings
Qualifications, skills and experience required:
- A*-C grade in English and Maths at GCSE level or equivalent
- Degree is desired
- Experience raising attendance standards within a school, preferably secondary school
- Experience of tracking student attendance and punctuality
- Experience preparing attendance reports
- Strong communication, and interpersonal skills
- Safeguarding training
