Job: Project Manager (Schools)
Organisation: Educational Charity
Location: Greater Manchester area. Homeworking, but you will be expected to visit many schools and colleges across the city each week and meet with other key stakeholders such as employers.
Daily gross salary: £200
Start date: Flexible, ideally from November onwards.
Contract: Consultancy basis (Self-employed), 5 days a week (Monday to Friday), term time only, Fixed until 31st August 2026. Opportunity to extend should follow if support proves successful.

Aston Education is working with an educational charity looking for a dynamic Project Manager to work with schools and colleges in Manchester. As a Project Manager you’ll oversee the successful delivery of support for a series of initiatives to raise awareness, increase engagement, and drive the impact of technical education pathways for young people.
You will be supported by experienced professionals but have the chance to take ownership of the role to meet the targets set.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Visiting schools and colleges in Manchester regularly acting as a trusted adviser, offering strategic and practical support on technical education pathways implementation
- Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with school and college leaders, employers, and local partners
- Attend and represent the charity at regional meetings, employer forums, and partnership events
- Plan and manage project activities to meet pre-agreed milestones, deliverables, and deadlines
- Coordinate and deliver activities, workshops, and consultations with schools and colleges
- Ensure consistent communication and reporting between regional partners and the charity’s national team
You have:
- Good level of secondary education
- Educated to degree level is desirable
- High level of English language proficiency
- Significant Project Management experience
- Significant experience working with schools or colleges
- Experience of technical education is desirable
- Ability to form strong relationships with wide range of stakeholders: employers, teachers, and students
- Flexible and proactive attitude
